We are thrilled to announce that we have officially launched the Swiss Triple Impact (STI) program on the 16th of September in Bern! The Swiss Triple Impact program will accelerate the contributions of Swiss businesses towards a more sustainable economy.
At the launch event, we discussed the future of business with guest speakers such as André Hoffmann (WEF Board of Trustees, Vice Chairman of the Roche Holding Ltd.), Karin Lenzlinger (President of the Zurich Chamber of Commerce), Antonio Hautle (Executive Director UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein), and Jacques Ducrest (Delegate of the Federal Council of the 2030 Agenda).
Key features of the Swiss Triple Impact program:
The goal is to mobilise 3000 companies in Switzerland within 3 years to take action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As part of the program, companies set measurable goals aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (e.g. Carbon neutrality, diversity, 100% sustainable materials etc.).
Implementation of the program in close cooperation with industry associations, like for instance the Zurich Chamber of Commerce, Alp ICT and Circular Hub.
There are currently more than 30 pioneering companies in the STI, actively contributing towards a more sustainable economy, of which we can name Firmenich, SV Group, V Zug and numerous SMEs (SMEs are the main target of the program and have great potential for action, representing 99% of all Swiss companies).
A yearly benchmark on the contribution of the Swiss businesses to the SDGs.
An STI Directory that will showcase Swiss companies that measure and manage their contributions to the SDGs.
Through the Economic and Business Forum (EBF), a dialogue body of the STI, the program creates a solution-oriented dialogue between representatives of the Swiss economy, and of both the political and scientific spectrum. The members of the EBF Executive Committee are:
André Hoffmann (Vice Chairman of Roche Holding Ltd. and member of the Board of Trustees of the WEF)
Adèle Thorens (Member of the Swiss Council of States)
Nadia Isler (Director UN SDG Lab)
Bérangère Magarinos-Ruchat (Chief Sustainability Officer Firmenich)
Dr. Karin Lenzlinger (Director of the Zurich Chamber of Commerce)
Jacques Ducrest (Delegate of the Federal Council for the 2030 Agenda)
Melissa Kneubühler (Innovation Coordinator Innovationspark Zentralschweiz)
Dr. Ruth Blumer Lahner (Head Regulatory Affairs, Sustainability & SHEQ of the Kolb Group and President of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein)
